Current Projects and Initiatives

This is a list of current projects and initiatives:

  • Industry updates, resources and a calendar of events provided by the new GAZeL Community Portal, our Insights NewsLetters and e-mail broadcasts

  • An Assessment and Referral Program to support, schools, organizations and businesses implement innovative eLearning projects. GAZeL will help them assess their needs, identify options, and find the appropriate Arizona resources, technologies, and services

  • A collaborative eLearning Industry PR Campaign to promote eLearning and eLearning industry in Arizona

  • An Arizona Online eLearning Directory of providers of eLearning technologies and services under development

  • eLearning product demonstrations and Education and Networking Events that will be distributed statewide by audio, web and video conferencing

  • Support for eSATS, the eLearning System For Arizona Teachers and Students, a multi-year plan for the effective adoption of eLearning in all Arizona K-12 classrooms

  • A series of Business Development Events targeted to Arizona business, education and government executives. These events will promote eLearning to potential customers of Arizona eLearning technologies and services. This wlll grow the consumer base for eLearning and lead to additional business opportunities for Arizona eLearning companies. These business development events will provide potential customers with opportunities to learn more about eLearning benefits and opportunities. They will also learn about GAZeL and Arizona resources, technologies, and.

  • An eLearning industry CEO/Executive Roundtable to discuss GAZeL development and industry issues

  • Developing a Statewide Audio, Web and Video Conference Network and facilitating online meetings for nonprofit business, education and technology organizations. GAZeL has received funding from the Southern Arizona Tech Council to coordinate the use of conferencing technologies such as audio, web and video conferencing to provide cluster members, students and other interested groups online access to meetings and events such as monthly cluster member meetings, special interest groups, conferences and other related business, education and workforce development meetings and events.

  • The GAZeL Research Committee will enable Arizona eLearning companies and practioners keep informed about, and have access to recent research relevant to elearning and advancing eLearning technologies and services. The Committee will provide a central depository for those interested in advancing eLearning technologies and services; encourage and promote research in areas related to technology-enabled learning, write proposals and foster inter-institutional studies, projects, programs, and other forms of collaboration; be responsive to changes in technology that affect learning; and contribute to Arizona’s growing understanding about technology-enabled learning and its promises for the future.   • GAZeL Representation at business and technology events, and national eLearning and related conferences held in Arizona

  • Annual GAZeL eLearning Conference, Expo, and Networking event. This annual event is for anyone responsible for implementing eLearning in their organization. If you represent a large company, a small business, an educational institution, an industry cluster, a professional/trade association, or a nonprofit organization, you will want to attend this event.
